Catherine MacLellan Delights Sold-Out Crowd
Juno-winner MacLellan showed why she has an internet following of millions by embracing tonight's sold-out audience with her deeply personal songwriting, beautiful voice, and charming stage presence. During the performance the artist shared her struggles with anxiety and relationships that form the heart of many of her best works. And, at the end, she paid tribute to her father Gene with a tender version of his hit "Snowbird" and to folk superstar Joni Mitchell with "Big Yellow Taxi". MacLellan's talent, though, needed no coattails; it shone brightly on its own. All-in-all, one of the best concerts of a marvellous Island performance season curated by local production manager Jamie Steel.
